What do you do for yourself that makes you feel good? Engaging with everything around you makes you feel good, relaxed and gives you a buzz.
Make sure that you do something every day that is for you and about you. It might be taking a walk, having a bath, reading a book or putting on a face mask. Anything for you, that makes you feel good.
Every day you put your skincare products on, but perhaps it would be nice to take a little more time over it by giving yourself a quick face massage.
Maybe making some time to put some body lotion on and really massaging it in, rather than slapping it on because you’re in a hurry.
“Live quietly in the moment and see the beauty of all before you. The future will take care of itself.” – spiritual teacher Paramhansa Yogananda
Slowing Down
It doesn’t have to be big things, but just a little time when you slow down and make it about you.
In the morning think about the clothes that you are wearing. Do you really like them?
Perhaps your indulgence would be giving yourself a couple more minutes, so you can take time to wear something that you love, rather than what happens to be on the bedroom floor.
Think about the food you prepare; are you always doing it in a hurry? Is it about convenience or about taking time to prepare a dish that you really enjoy eating?
Make sure to really focus on you and consciously connect with what makes you feel good, because you are worth it. Embrace yourself.
My Rituals
There are certain rituals that I have now, as a result of this formula, that I never rush. On the odd occasion I do rush, it feels wrong. Appreciating a cup of tea made in my favourite mug, cooking a fresh and colourful meal or taking a few minutes out of my day to read a book.
It really is about doing a little, every day.
